Tutorial: Making a Simple Graphic
Graphics are used to display information from the system and to control equipment. 1. Right-click a device or driver in the device tree and select "New Graphic". Normally, graphics would be added under a device if it will only contain information about that device. Add a graphic under the driver or site item if it will contain information from several devices, such as global temperature reports. This is only a suggestion; graphics may be placed under any device, driver, folder or the site item as desired. 2. Type a label for the graphic and click "Finish". For simplicity, leave "Unique Graphic" selected. See Graphics for more information about other types of graphics. 3. The device tree should now contain an icon for the new graphic. Click the graphic in the tree to open it. 4. Click the ![]() 5. The help button in the top toolbar may be clicked for help with edit mode, but for now just drag any point from the device tree and drop it on the graphic. This will display the "Component Template" selection box. 6. Scroll down and click on the "Text Label" folder. Click each item in that folder to see a preview of what it will look like on the graphic. When you find one you like, click the "Select" button. 7. Depending on the default size of the text label, you may need to grab one of the white handles on the right side of the text label and stretch it out so the text fits. 8. Click the ![]() 9. Click the ![]() 10. Repeat this process for each point you want to add to the graphic. Feel free to experiment with other components, but not all components are appropriate for all types of points. << Back |
